Mirae Asset Venture Investments (India) Private Limited, the private investing arm of Mirae Asset Global Investments, Korea, has appointed Puneet Kumar as Chief Executive Officer of its venture capital and private investing business. In his new role, Kumar will lead the firm’s venture investing platform, focusing on backing high-growth companies aligned with Mirae Asset’s long-term innovation and value creation strategy.

Mirae Asset actively invests in startups across technology platforms, consumer businesses, artificial intelligence, and deep technology. Its India portfolio includes notable names such as Zomato (Eternal), Dhan, Shadowfax, and KreditBee. As of November 30, 2025, the firm manages over ₹1,477 crore in assets under management across two Category II Alternative Investment Funds in India, while its global venture capital platform oversees $4.4 billion in assets.

Prior to joining Mirae Asset, Kumar served as Managing Director at Steadview Capital, where he led investments across public and private equities with a strong focus on India’s technology ecosystem. Earlier, he was Vice President at Nexus Venture Partners, contributing to investments across SaaS, consumer, agritech, and emerging digital businesses.

Mirae Asset plans to significantly scale its private investing operations in India under Kumar’s leadership.
