Bain Capital has welcomed Utsav Baijal back to the firm as Partner and Head of Special Situations and Real Estate in India, marking a full-circle moment in his distinguished investing career. With over 20 years of experience across private equity, hybrid capital, and credit, Utsav brings deep expertise in building and scaling investment platforms across India, Asia, and the United States.

Utsav rejoins Bain Capital after an impactful 17-year tenure at Apollo Global Management, where he most recently served as Head of India and Partner with the Hybrid Value team. During his time at Apollo, he played a pivotal role in expanding the firm’s India presence and leading complex investment strategies across special situations and structured capital. Earlier in his career, Utsav worked with Bain Capital in Boston and began his professional journey at McKinsey & Company, gaining strong foundations in strategy and global business advisory.

In his new role, Utsav will focus on strengthening Bain Capital’s Special Situations platform in India, driving innovative capital solutions and unlocking value across challenging and complex market environments.
