Startup Stories
Spangle, the AI-powered e-commerce startup founded by former Bolt CEO Maju Kuruvilla, has reached a $100 million valuation following a $15 million Series A funding round led by NewRoad Capital Partners, with participation from Madrona, DNX Ventures, Streamlined Ventures, and strategic angel investors. This brings the startup’s total funding to $21 million, building on its $6 million seed round raised last year.
The Seattle-based company is tackling a major shift in online retail, where AI, social platforms, and recommendation engines increasingly shape consumer purchase journeys. Spangle’s proprietary AI model, ProductGPT, dynamically personalizes product pages in real time, delivering recommendations, content, and layouts tailored to each shopper’s behavior, search history, and traffic source.
Since emerging from stealth, Spangle has signed nine enterprise clients, including Revolve, Alexander Wang, and Steve Madden, representing a combined $3.8 billion in online sales. Traffic through the platform has grown 57% month-on-month, while annualized revenue quadrupled in Q4, reflecting strong enterprise adoption.
Retailers leveraging Spangle report up to a 50% increase in revenue per visit, doubled return on ad spend, and a 15% boost in average order value. With the new funding, Spangle plans to expand its engineering and sales teams and continue advancing AI-driven retail personalization.
