IndusInd Bank appointed Balaji Narayanamurthy as its new Chief Data Officer, bringing nearly three decades of expertise in analytics, data strategy, business intelligence, and digital transformation. In this role, he will lead the bank’s data-driven decision-making frameworks, strengthen advanced analytics capabilities, and accelerate enterprise-wide digital initiatives.

Balaji’s move to IndusInd Bank follows an impactful 15-year journey at Axis Bank, where he held multiple leadership roles, including President and Head of the Business Intelligence Unit. He played a central role in driving data modernization, customer intelligence, digital analytics, and large-scale BI transformation programs that elevated the bank’s digital maturity.

His broader career spans key positions at Freecharge (Board of Directors), Barclaycard, Capital One, and Citi, where he built and scaled high-performing analytics and insights teams across marketing, risk, and data management. With his diverse experience across global and Indian financial institutions, Balaji is well-positioned to advance IndusInd Bank’s data and digital agenda.
