BYTES has announced a strategic acquisition by Cautio, marking a significant step toward scaling intelligent, accessible road safety solutions across India’s mobility ecosystem. The acquisition brings together BYTES’ proprietary vision AI technology with Cautio’s safety telematics platform, enabling large-scale deployment of advanced safety systems across multiple vehicle form factors, including two-wheelers.
India records over one lakh two-wheeler fatalities annually, highlighting a critical gap in road safety frameworks traditionally designed for four-wheelers. BYTES was founded with a first-principles approach to address this gap, building intelligence-led safety solutions specifically for two-wheelers rather than adapting car-centric models. Early pilots demonstrated measurable shifts in rider behaviour and risk patterns, reinforcing the potential for impact at scale.
Through this integration, the combined platform aims to deliver real-time risk detection, behavioural insights, and everyday safety for riders operating across fleets, logistics, and personal mobility use cases. The partnership is driven by a shared commitment to democratising safety, making it accessible rather than premium or optional.
BYTES founders Aayush Kumar and Prakhar Agrawal said the acquisition enables the mission to move faster with deeper execution and broader reach. They also acknowledged the support of early investors, ecosystem partners, and institutions that helped shape the journey.
The acquisition positions Cautio and BYTES to play a pivotal role in redefining road safety for India’s most vulnerable road users.
