Premera Blue Cross has appointed Rajat Puri as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), marking a key leadership addition for one of the Pacific Northwest’s most prominent not-for-profit health plans. His role will focus on strengthening the integration of operations, technology, and member experience, core to Premera’s mission of delivering accessible, high-quality healthcare.

As COO, Puri will oversee critical operational and technology functions including customer service, membership and billing, claims management, IT, and digital solutions. These functions serve as the backbone of a seamless, member-first healthcare journey.

Jeffrey Roe, CEO and President of Premera Blue Cross, praised the appointment, noting that Puri brings a strong, scalable vision for leveraging technology and operational discipline to enhance both member and provider experiences.

Puri previously built and led major operating capabilities at Carelon Global Solutions (CGS) and served as COO of Carelon. His earlier roles across McKesson, Birlasoft, and TCS further strengthen his broad cross-sector expertise.
