Mastercard has announced the appointment of Amarjit Singh Walia as Senior Vice President, Account Management, South Asia, reinforcing its leadership team as it continues to drive growth and innovation in the region’s rapidly evolving digital payments ecosystem.

A seasoned banking and payments executive with more than three decades of experience, Amarjit will lead Mastercard’s relationships with financial institutions across South Asia, focusing on strengthening strategic partnerships, expanding market opportunities, and accelerating digital payments adoption.

Commenting on the appointment, Gautam Aggarwal, Division President, South Asia, Mastercard, highlighted Amarjit’s extensive expertise in business building, customer-centric growth, and partnership development, noting that his leadership will help unlock new growth opportunities across the region.

Before joining Mastercard, Amarjit spent over 22 years at ICICI Bank, where he most recently served as Business Head for Credit Cards, Debit Cards, and Commercial Cards. His career spans retail banking, lending, NRI banking, cards, liabilities, and customer growth initiatives.
