Legal-tech startup Lawyered has raised ₹8.5 crore on the business reality show IdeaBaaz at a ₹120 crore pre-money valuation, marking one of the most notable funding announcements on Indian television. The funding round saw participation from prominent investors, including Pawan Jaggi, VC Sandesh Sharda, Priyanka Salot, Co-founder of The Sleep Company, and entrepreneur Arjun Vaidya.
Founded in 2018 by Himanshu Gupta, Lawyered is a technology-driven legal assistance platform aimed at making legal services proactive, accessible, and integrated into daily life. The startup initially focused on the mobility sector with platforms like LOTS247, India’s first roadside legal assistance service, and ChallanPay, a traffic challan resolution platform.
The new capital will be used to drive product innovation, expand technology infrastructure, enhance brand visibility, and strengthen nationwide distribution. Lawyered currently supports over 600,000 vehicles and 800 businesses, leveraging a network of 70,000+ lawyers. The platform has resolved more than 200,000 legal matters, saving customers over ₹50 crore in penalties and downtime.
Looking ahead, Lawyered plans to expand into finance, real estate, healthcare, and other sectors, aiming to build the rails of India’s legal infrastructure and make legal services preventive, proactive, and widely accessible.
