Digantara Raises $50 Million to Accelerate Space-Based Missile Defense Capabilities Startup Stories

Bengaluru-based space situational awareness startup Digantara has successfully raised USD 50 million in a funding round, marking a significant milestone for India’s growing NewSpace and defense technology ecosystem.

The funding will support Digantara’s mission to strengthen space-based missile defense and space surveillance capabilities, including the expansion of its satellite constellation, enhancement of real-time space monitoring systems, and scaling of its global presence particularly in the United States.

Digantara specializes in space situational awareness (SSA), providing advanced solutions to track, analyze, and predict the movement of objects in Earth’s orbit. Its technology plays a critical role in safeguarding satellites, mitigating space debris risks, and enabling national security and defense preparedness. The Government of Karnataka, through its innovation and deep-tech initiatives, has congratulated Digantara on the achievement, highlighting the company as a strong example of how Indian startups are shaping strategic and globally relevant space technologies.

The funding reflects growing international confidence in India’s space-tech capabilities and reinforces Karnataka’s position as a hub for deep-tech, aerospace, and defense innovation. As global reliance on space infrastructure intensifies, Digantara’s progress underscores the increasing strategic importance of space security, resilience, and situational awareness in both civilian and defense domains.
