CARS24 Deepens Customer Engagement with Strategic Acquisition of CarInfo Startup Stories

Used-car marketplace CARS24 has acquired vehicle information and management platform CarInfo, strengthening its push to build a comprehensive vehicle ownership ecosystem. This marks CARS24’s second acquisition within a year, following its takeover of automotive community platform Team-BHP, and signals the company’s expanding focus beyond core vehicle transactions.

As part of the deal, CarInfo and its companion app BikeInfo will be integrated into the CARS24 ecosystem while continuing to operate as standalone platforms with their existing teams. Founded by Saajid Mani, CarInfo simplifies access to critical vehicle-related information such as registration details, insurance and pollution certificate validity, challans, FASTag status, and other compliance requirements—areas that frequently create friction for vehicle owners due to fragmented data systems.

Commenting on the acquisition, CARS24 Founder and CEO Vikram Chopra noted that many ownership challenges arise from routine oversights like expired documents or inaccessible records. CarInfo, he said, was built to reduce this complexity by making essential vehicle information instantly accessible. The platform currently serves over 12 million monthly active users, growing steadily through consistent everyday utility.

While the deal value has not been officially disclosed, MediaNama reported the consideration at ₹118 crore, citing regulatory filings. The acquisition aligns with CARS24’s broader ambition to deepen customer engagement across the full vehicle ownership lifecycle, integrating information, compliance, and services into a single, trusted platform.
